Target shooting is an Olympic sport, and one in which the United Kingdom has an excellent record.
Target shooting has an excellent safety record, with one of the lowest accident rates of all
Olympic sports. This may seem surprising in view of the obvious hazards associated with the handling of the equipment but it is because the hazards are so obvious that shooters have an excellent safety culture.
Shooting ranges can only be operated by appropriately trained adult Scout leaders who hold a current Scouting shooting permit. The shooting range is constructed to strict rules and guidelines.
In line with the Scout Association policy, written parental consent must be given prior to the activity, for any participant under the age of 18.
The consent form below must be completed and handed to a leader prior to camp or any shooting activities.
